The voice on the other end of the phone said “911, what’s your emergency?”

I was standing there bleeding, with his handprints on my neck, my heart racing in abject fear, my hands shaking so badly, it had taken 3 tries to dial 911.

I could barely hear the 911 operator over the sobs of my 13-year-old, who was draped across the pet carriers at my feet, crying hysterically, vehemently vowing to protect our kitties Snickerdoodle and Gracie Mae, with her life.

My 17 year old was silently standing in the foyer, his back braced against the coat closet door, with a look of steely determination on his tear-stained face. He held his sword in shaking hands, pointed at the front door, prepared to run his father through to protect us.

The rhythmic boom of his father repeatedly mule kicking the metal front door, punctuating each impact screaming what he was going to do to us, was ringing in my ears as I whispered through terrified tears, “Please hurry, he’s going to kill us all.” to the voice on the other end of the line.

“Where are they?” “Are they going to let us die?” “Why aren’t they here yet mama?” “Aren’t they going to save us?” Those were the questions asked of me over and over again, and I didn’t have the answers for my children. I felt helpless, worthless, and ashamed. What kind of mother was I that I couldn’t protect my children from their own father?

High-pitched sirens filled the night and our neighborhood was immersed in flashing blue as they finally arrived. But the terror didn’t stop when they got there, because their fucking taser’s weren’t phasing him at all.

I collapsed on the floor in horrified awe, my legs shaking too badly to hold me any longer. I watched from the window as they tased him again, and again, and again, the sounds of him screaming in defiant rage, as he told them what he was going to do to us in agonizing detail reverberated outside, with the sound of my youngest child’s gut-wrenching sobs echoing inside.

The thud of bodies hitting the ground was loud even inside. I watched as 5 burly deputies bore him to the ground while a sixth struggled to get handcuffs on him. I knew we wouldn’t have stood a chance if he’d gotten inside. I remember thinking that it was going to be hard for them to get the grass and blood stains out of their clothes. Shock was setting in and in that moment my brain just couldn’t process any more fear.

Standing in my kitchen, as they photographed the marks he’d left on my flesh and the trail of destruction he’d left through the house, my children never getting more than a couple of feet from my side. I couldn’t speak to answer their questions for the longest time. Every time I’d open my mouth to tell them what had happened, panic would rise up and I’d just start bawling again.

You know how they say in near death experiences people’s lives flash before their eyes? In the moment before I chose to pick up the phone and dial 911, it was our deaths that flashed before mine. Our deaths at his hand in so many past lifetimes.

In that moment, instead of freezing, instead of blindly hoping that everything would be okay, instead of begging the universe, praying, or wishing for a miracle, like I had done in all of those past lifetimes, I chose to make a new choice, to take a new action that literally saved mine, my children’s, and our furry family member’s lives.

I broke several hellacious negative repeating patterns that night, and in the next few days to come, I broke many more. This set me firmly on the path of my life’s work, empowering others to make new choices and take new actions to take their personal power back, the power to transform their lives on all levels.

Why Did I Tell You This Story?

Because all it takes is one new choice, one new action, that is in alignment with what you want to experience in your life to open new doors that lead you to having that which you most deeply desire and I can show you how.

It also can only take one kind act to someone else that totally changes not only the trajectory of their life, but their families lives and future generations.

The trauma abuse cycle doesn't just affect someone emotionally & mentally, it affects their ability to have excellent physical health, their ability to have financial abundance, to find their purpose, it negatively affects all areas of their life.

I do what I do because I want to stop the trauma/abuse cycle in as many lives as I possibly can. I don't want anyone to go through what my family went through, or any other type of abuse.

Abuse comes in many forms. It doesn't have to be as dramatic as ours to create lasting trauma that gets passed down through generations and spreads through society until it is normalized. It can be very subtle, that's why awareness os so very important. I say Fuck. That. Shit. I will not sit idally by and watch this happen when I can do something to make a difference, and I hope you won't either.

You are Blessed. Blessed that you have sovereignty over your money and can choose to join this membership and make a tangible difference in other's lives.

For people in abusive situations, one of the first things that happens, if not the very first thing, is that their abuser takes full control of the money, cutting off their financial resources to empower themselves.

They also alienate their victim's friends and family, and cut off access to other potentially supportive people, social media communities for example, so that they feel like there's no-one to help them, and they feel so very alone.

You are blessed simply because you have the ability to make the choice of whether or not to join this supportive, empowering community. Empowering for you, empowering for others in the community, and empowering for those we will help through Empowerment Projects who are not in a position to help themselves, like you are.
